IFK Norrköping secured a key away victory against Varbergs BoIS to strengthen their position at the top of the Superettan. The team won 2-0 in a top-of-the-table clash at Varberg Energi Arena.
After a goalless first half, Norrköping broke the deadlock in the 54th minute. Elias Jemal provided the cross for Christoffer Nyman to head home. The goalscorer then turned provider in the 72nd minute, setting up Moutaz Neffati who sealed the 2-0 win.
Norrköping remain first in the Superettan with 48 points from 22 games. The win extends their lead to ten points over second-placed Varberg. The team has an impressive goal difference of +28, having scored 43 and conceded only 15 this season. This was the 12th clean sheet kept by Norrköping's goalkeepers this campaign, a key foundation for their success.
Norrköping are unbeaten in their last four matches, with three wins and one draw. Their recent form reads DWWW, following a 2-2 draw with Ljungskile last week with three consecutive wins before that.
The follow-up is a home match against Oddevold on Saturday, September 13th. Oddevold currently sit fifth in the table and will be a tough opponent.
