Norrköping: Fake Election Posters Emerge. The posters depict Ulf Kristersson (M) and Jimmie Åkesson (SD) in satirical images. One poster shows Kristersson as a gangster with the text "Shoot all poor children before they become criminals," while another portrays him as Napoleon Bonaparte with the text "Napoleon complex luthor." Åkesson is shown with the text "3D RIKET." The sender is unknown.
Moderates react locally
When the posters were put up in Norrköping it is unclear when they were placed. Simon Johansson, group leader for the Moderates, learned of them on Monday morning. He expressed concern that they distract from real politics: "I would have liked to talk to you about the Moderates' politics, but instead we talk about the fake posters." The party has informed the police, who will now decide whether the posters should be removed.
Police and the election campaign
Martin Hedberg, a police officer with special responsibility for the election campaign, reported that no police reports about the posters in Norrköping have been received. He emphasized that the police cannot remove posters arbitrarily, but that the line could be crossed if it involves hate crimes. "If, for instance, posters were found with crucifixes, we could remove them. That could be hate against a group," said Hedberg.
Prosecutor investigates
Prosecutor Thomas Bull is investigating, according to Aftonbladet, whether the posters in Stockholm constitute defamation or should be regarded as political satire. It is unclear whether the same investigation covers the posters in Norrköping.
Knife found at Linköping University
A separate incident at Linköping University involved a knife found in a ventilation space on Monday morning. Police officer Olle Älveroth reported that a security guard had found the knife just before nine. "We went there and collected it," said Älveroth.
Security assessment
The security chief at Linköping University, Annevi Fredäng, confirmed that there are no indications that the incident is linked to any threatening situation. She noted that the university has procedures for contacting the police in such cases.
Context to Fagersta
Although the incident at Linköping University is separate, it was noted that a girl was killed and three boys were injured in a school shooting in Fagersta the previous Friday. The police used a sword in the attack. Älveroth mentioned that they do not have increased presence at the university but will look for any traces that could lead further.
